Struggling with Self-Doubt

When I was younger, I had this vision of how my life would unfold—a path that felt uniquely mine. But that path didn’t align with my parents’ expectations. It was a painful and difficult decision, but I eventually chose to leave home to follow what I believed was right for me. That decision brought freedom, but it also brought an overwhelming sense of uncertainty, loneliness, and a nagging question I couldn’t shake: Am I enough?
In those early years, I believed my worth was tied to my success. I thought if I could just land the right job, earn enough money, or prove to everyone—and myself—that I could make it, then I’d feel whole. But life has a way of humbling us, doesn’t it? Job rejections, financial struggles, and countless moments of feeling completely lost left me wondering if I was truly worth anything. I was trying so hard to define myself by the world’s standards, but the more I strived, the emptier I felt.
It was during one of my lowest points that God began to whisper to my heart. At first, I ignored it, too focused on trying to fix my life on my own. But the whispers grew louder, and deep down, I knew I couldn’t do it alone anymore. I started searching—reading the Bible, praying (even though I didn’t always know the words to say), and asking questions about who God is and who He says I am. And what I discovered changed everything.
God doesn’t measure our worth by our jobs, our bank accounts, or how perfectly our lives align with a checklist. He sees us as His creation, deeply loved and chosen. Ephesians 2:10 says, “For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.” When I read that verse, it felt like a light switched on. I wasn’t just wandering through life aimlessly—God had a purpose for me all along.
I wanted to create a business using creativity that would inspire others through their tough moments, so I started Guide & Grace. Starting my Christian stationery business, Guide & Grace, has been a big part of rediscovering my identity in Him. It began as a simple idea, a way to use my creativity to help others grow in their faith. But it’s become so much more. This business has not only been a source of income or a creative outlet but a constant reminder of God’s hand in my life. Every product I design, every note of encouragement I include, and every story I share is a way for me to point back to Him.
There are still days when I struggle. Days when the doubts creep in and I feel the old pull to measure my worth by worldly standards. But I’ve learned to turn those moments into opportunities to lean on God even more. I’ve discovered that my worth doesn’t come from what I do but from whose I am.
If you’ve ever felt like you’re not enough, like your value is tied to your achievements or how others see you, I want you to know you’re not alone. And more importantly, I want you to know there’s hope. God sees you, loves you, and has a plan for your life that’s far greater than anything you could imagine. Let go of the pressure to prove your worth and rest in the truth that you are already enough in Him.

My journey of leaving home, struggling to make it on my own, and finding my identity in Christ has been anything but easy. But it’s also been the most beautiful, faith-filled adventure. And through it all, I’ve learned that even when I feel like I’m not enough, God is more than enough.
